7 Ways To Boost Engagement On Your Facebook Business Page

Have you noticed a drop in your engagement on Facebook? Has it left you feeling frustrated and unmotivated? You’re not alone!

For a long time businesses using Facebook for promotion saw great results, organically! However, recently businesses have struggled to gain engagement without the use of paid ads.

Listed below are a few simple tips and tricks that will help you boost your Facebook engagement and make the most out of what Facebook has to offer to your business.

1. Give people a reason to visit your page

No matter who you are, how large your Facebook following is or how great your content is, you will never show up on every single person’s newsfeed. In order to maximise engagement, you have to put in some effort to bring the people to your content! Try experimenting with different contests, giveaways, offering special offers and deals or simply providing great content to engage them and keep them coming back by choice!

2. Post when your audience are active!

What’s the point in creating amazing content, if you’re going to post it at times your audience won’t see it?

Different people use facebook at different times throughout the day. Some browse in the morning before work, others check it constantly throughout the day, some browse just before bed time. If you’re randomly posting every day, you run the risk of your posts being missed by those you want to see them most!

The best way to ensure your posts are being seen is to regularly check your Facebook Insights. This allows you to see what times of the day your fans are most active on Facebook, so you can schedule your posts to publish at those specific times of the day.

3. Boost your best posts

Seeing that only a small fraction of people will get to see your Facebook posts, a great way to reach a larger audience is to boost a few of your best posts! You don’t necessarily have to have a large budget for this, throwing as little as £15 at a post will target those who like your page and their friends! If you’re unsure on what your ‘best posts’ are you can check your Analytics to view how well your previous posts have done, to determine what content is worth promoting. This will allow you to throw out your best content to attract a wider audience!

4. Use Video

I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, if you are not using video on your facebook business page, you need to start! People are naturally attracted to moving images and videos so using video content in your strategy is crucial if you want to stay relevant in the social media world. Video also is very appealing to those viewing on a mobile and with the majority of us now using our mobiles to browse the internet and Facebook, now is definitely the time to start crafting your video content!

5. Make content your audience actually want to see (not just what you want them to see)

It’s likely that one of the main reasons you are using social media platforms for your business is to promote and sell your product or service. However, self promoting all the time can be quite irritating for your audience. While it’s important to share the benefits of your products and services, it’s important to balance this self promo with things that your audience will be interested in and posts that will help others rather than yourself. This will make your friends and followers less likely to unfollow and much more likely to interact with the promotional posts you do do, as you are not shoving it down their throat.

6. Engage with your audience

Building relationships with your audience and customers is a great way to keep them engaged. If you are putting a lot of effort into people engaging with your posts, but once they reply you ignore them - the hard work is sort of going to waste. If your audience take the time to leave a comment on your content, you should be taking the time out to respond to them and make them feel like they are part of a community - the more you do this the more likely your conversion rates will rise!

7. Don’t forget to include a call to action!

If you want your audience to do something, you have to tell them to do it! Including a call to action will give people that little nudge they need to take the next step, whether its to buy a product, sign up to your newsletter or simply like or comment on the post, make sure you are including a call to action in every post! Your cover photos on Facebook are also a great opportunity for you to promote. Are you holding an event? Do you want people to sign up to your newsletter? Create an image and put it as your cover photo and add the call to action button in the bottom right hand corner.
